Charity garage sale this weekend

The final Opportunity to Do Charity Garage Sale for 2015 will be held on Saturday 5 December from 7 am-12 pm at 5 O'Grady Place Wanniassa.

All adults' clothing reduced by 50% and there will be lots of other great bargains.

Browse through a huge range of baby, kids', adults' and household items, all at affordable prices.  Plenty of new items every month, including kids' & adults' clothing from just $1.50,  books for $2 or less, DVDs $2, CDs $1, kitchenware, toys, bric-a-brac and much, much more.

All proceeds go towards funding projects that promote sustainability and self-reliance in poor communities. 


This month funds raised will be used for a range of projects to be delivered by the four Charity Partners of the awareness campaign Walk to a Better World.  Opportunity to Do work with CARE, Oxfam, The Fred Hollows Foundation and Caritas to fund a number of projects in Africa that are community driven and create sustainable change in communities living below the poverty line.

Next Charity Garage Sale

The Charity Garage Sale is on again on Saturday 7 November, 7 am-12 pm at 5 O'Grady Place Wanniassa.

Browse through a huge range of baby, kids, adult and household items, all at affordable prices.  Plenty of new items every month, including kids’ clothes from just $1.50, adult clothing from $2.50, books for $2 or less, DVDs $2, CDs $1, kitchenware, toys, bric-a-brac and much, much more.

All proceeds go towards funding projects that promote sustainability and self-reliance in poor communities.  This month funds are going to set up a pre-school in rural Malawi, Africa.  Once established the pre-school will be completely sustainable from charging a small fee of approximately $2 per month per child.  Along with a safe place and early access to education, the children will also receive a nutritious meal once a day.

Opportunity To Do garage sales

We received an email from the organiser of the Charity To Do garage sales:

'Our next Charity Garage Sale is on Saturday 6 June.  Hoping to get a good turnout even though its a long weekend.  Plenty of new stock including heaps of toys, bikes, some vintage SLR cameras and vintage books plus all the regular clothing, kitchenware etc.  More details in our facebook event listing


 If all goes well then we hope to raise the final amount needed to set up a Savings and Loan Cooperative (community bank) in Malawi.
